The development of anxiety disorders has been proven to be more prone for women than for men. The rate of panic has been two or three times as compared to men. Why would women be more likely than men to develop these disorders?
Some social theorists suggest that women have a greater risk of anxiety disorders because of their place in society and the nature of their relationships with others. Women have generally less power in society than do men, and their status is typically tied to the men they are related to. This causes women to fit tightly to others, to play submissive and subservient roles in relationships, to have a sense of being vulnerable and defenseless, and to be hypervigilant on any signs of problems in their relationships. Their suppression of their own desires and fearfulness of loss, however, leave women chronically anxious. Panics and phobias are simply extreme expressions of these women’s ongoing anxiety. This might be an another way to put across vulnerability and to conform to their passive role. However, empirical research studies has not studied this intriguing and popular theory.
A different but connected perception is that sex role socialization and pressures influence how men and women manage their handle their symptoms of distress and thus whether they grow anxiety disorders. First, men may sense it is socially unacceptable to express anxiety and thus may be more prone to deal with their feared situations and thereby put out their anxiety. Second, men show more likely than women to seek medical help for anxiety symptoms especially panic attacks. Men does not view it as a sign that there is something wrong with their lives or in their personalities but rather view it as symptoms of an annoying medical problem. As a result, men may be more likely than women to receive effective treatment in the early stages of possible anxiety disorders. Not all men who have anxiety symptoms seek appropriate help for them.
Anxiety can impair with one’s daily living. It always starts at a very bearable level until all the various facets of your life is already suffering. However, there is something you can do. It is called anxiety rehab. Anxiety rehab works like other rehab in order to treat the disorder. In most times, psychotherapy is ebing used by anxiety rehab. Sometimes, psychotherapy is paired with using medication in order to ensure a successful treatment.
In order for people to get better, cognitive behavioral therapy is mostly being used by anxiety rehab. In cognitive behavioral therapy, there is attention on treating people with anxiety disorder to deal with the issues they worry most about; challenge their negative and catastrophizing thoughts; and develop coping strategies. This kind of therapy has been shown in some studies to be more effective than using medication. However, there are times that cognitive behavioral therapy and medication should come in pair. In using medication, benzodiazepine drugs (such as Xanax, Librium, Valium, and Serax) are used. A short term relief is provided by this kind of medication on the symptoms of anxiety. It must be noted that addiction can happen due to the tolerance from this kind of drug. Currently, a new drug called buspirone has been discovered to alleviate the symptoms of generalized anxiety for some people. A less likelihood to result into an addiction and a fewer side effects is being presented by this drug.
Are you having problems with your consistent anxieties? Anxiety rehab is there to help you.

One of the major areas that can be damage because of alcohol addiction is your health and your life. Before one starts to control his or her drinking issues, he or she needs to accept first the presence of alcohol addiction.
Motivation and dedication is are one of the primary factor to easily conquer alcohol addiction. One efficient way of keeping yourself motivated is to know that once you are not under the influence of alcohol anymore, your life will significantly get better. Your relationships will be a lot better and you entire outlook in life will greatly change. Aside from that, your body will no longer go against you. This will then make you someone better, inside and out.
In the process of overcoming your alcohol addiction, here are some tips that might be of great help to you.
First, what you need to master is the art of discipline. Then, you have to identify your limitations. You will be travelling the right path once you put these two together. Therefore, it is but logical to drive yourself to stick to your limits. Drinking is fine, in fact the body needs some alcohol to function properly. However, the amount of alcohol consumed by any individual should stay at a tolerable level. When one starts to drink alcohol in an excessive level, the problem begins.
When you start drinking more than you can handle, then there is something wrong in the equation. The act of getting drunk may be right while you are still doing the act or are still in the process of doing it, but what you do not understand with every toss down are the dangerous effects that are of wide range.Letting yourself remember about the headache from hangover the next day might sound too ridiculous, but sticking to that “silly” warning actually have greater benefits.
There are actually several ways that can help you avoid drinking excessively. Bringing limited money is one way to do this, limited in the sense that before you leave home, the amount of money that you bring with you can only pay for a limited amount of alcohol you can consume. If your money runs out, that will serve as your wakeup call that you have reached your drinking limits. Other great tips to control one’s taking in of alcohol include eating a full meal and taking in lots of water before going on an alcohol drinking session with your buddies. During drinking, it is also advised by some experts that people should note at chips or peanuts as they will make you want to gobble up more alcohol. The proper way to drink, according to these experts, is to drink little by little; to sip it. It is also good when you are with someone when you drink, but drinking combinations and alcohol mixtures are not advisable especially if you are unaware of the exact amount of alcohol in it.
Controlling your alcohol consumption also means taking care of your body. If you think that you are going to be sick because of stress and exhaustion from work, taking in alcohol will not help you feel better in reality. Even sparkling wines and carbonated mixers should also be stayed away from because alcohol is absorbed by your body if you drink them. When you do drink, put a lot of ice in your glass of liquor. It is also not good to drink when under medication, for the alcohol content in drinks can offset the curing effects of most medicines.
You need serious help whenever the above recommendations has not been successful for you. One can enroll his or herself in an alcohol addiction program to recover from this alcohol addiction. One may also join informative groups or seek help from counselors or much better, to consult a physician.
Alcohol addiction can be easily overcome with the right motivation and determination.
